Transition Classes

Transition Classes: Students, who have serious disabilities, including mental retardation, autism, TBI and multiple disabilities, may begin services at Children’s Center, a public day school, at age five. The Transition classes include pre-academic and academic instruction as well as training for inclusion in kindergarten and primary classes. Some students become ready for a special education inclusion setting in one or two years. Some students will remain at Children’s Center, not transitioning to zoned schools.
